Basic Jewelry Care

Remove all jewelry before taking a bath or a shower
Soap can cause a film to form on your jewelry, making it dull and dingy looking.

Polishing Cloths
Silver or gold polishing cloths are best to use because they don’t have fibers in them to cause scratches.

Jewelry Inspections
It is best to have your jewelry maintained and inspected to prevent any possible problems. A professional cleaning is great to have to keep your jewelry in shape.

Colored Gemstones
Clean with warm water (not hot), mild soap (no detergents) and a soft brush. Make sure to plug the sink so nothing can fall down the drain.

Pearl and Opal Storage
Keep all pearls and opals away from dry areas or from storing in safety deposit boxes. Both of these can crack if subjected to very dry conditions or rapid changes in temperature. For best storage keep in a padded cloth bag or jewelry box.
